Most Paris escape rooms advertise English and in practice only translate the briefing, leaving the clues and in-game documents in French. If nobody in your group speaks the language, you feel the difference within ten minutes.

Why so few Paris venues genuinely run in English

Translating an escape room is expensive, and not only in translation. It takes bilingual actors free on the same slots, duplicated clues and props, a game master able to follow a session in either language, and often redesigned puzzles: a French wordplay cannot be translated, it has to be replaced.

That is why « available in English » covers very different realities from one venue to the next. The question to ask when booking is not whether the staff speak English, but whether the clues and the actors are in English.

Our three missions, playable in English

The GCPD puts you in charge of your first investigation at Gotham's police station, up to 24 players. The Joker takes you into the wildest metro line in the city, also up to 24 players. The Batcave is an infiltration with two scenarios to choose from, heroes or villains, from 2 to 6 players.

In all three, a professional actor plays alongside you for the whole session. That is the biggest difference from a standard escape room, and it is also what makes the switch to English visible: it is not a translation, it is a different performer playing the same scene in another language.

How it works if your group speaks no French

You pick the language when you book, and everything follows: the welcome, the briefing, the in-game documents, the hints given during play and the final debrief. Mixed groups are not a problem either, our teams switch between languages mid-session when needed.

One practical tip for visitors: book the English slot a few days ahead rather than on the day, because it depends on which bilingual actors are on shift.

A practical address when visiting Paris

We are at La Villette, opposite the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie, on metro line 7. It is a district visitors already pass through for the park, the Géode or the Philharmonie, and the Bassin de la Villette is a few minutes away on foot.

In practice a mission fits inside half a day of sightseeing without wrecking it. Many of our international players carry on at the on-site lounge bar, where the team also speaks English, or at one of the other immersive experiences in Paris.

The other English-speaking escape rooms in Paris

We are not the only option, and it is worth saying plainly. The Game, in the Latin Quarter, has fully translated puzzles and remains the most cited choice for visitors, helped by a very central location. Gamescape, in the 11th, has welcomed international players since 2014 and builds on Parisian legends. Lock Academy runs detective scenarios that translate well. Team Break also offers English slots.

Three things set us apart: the official DC Comics licence, the only one in France; live actors in every session rather than a voice through a speaker; and a capacity of 24 players in a single room, which lets a group stay together.
